Hi! I still owe you a follow up blog with details of my 3rd Vogue Knitting Live and my trip to NYC. It was really fun, and the quilt class was enlightening. I definitely stretched my design ideas!
This past week I was away on business for the start of Curves Class! Rachel over at
Stitched in Color is having a bloggy quilting class focused on curves! So I had to catch up this weekend, and make my first class project - the
Clamshell pillow.
It took a bit to get the hang of sewing together the clam shells and I ended up adjusting the seam width part way through as I was not catching both sides of the seam at times. I kept it aligned on a cutting grid so that it would stay straight (as Rachel suggested), and it ended up really square.
I have to admit, I was a little hesitant about making 'raw edge applique.' I really didn't understand how that can work?? But I guess with a pillow that you're not going to wash often, it makes sense, and I'm really happy with the result!

Thanks for sharing about your thoughts and process. This was a tricky-ish project. Your finished pillow is very fun!
